Simple VE Changes -

For those wondering exactly what and how PROM Burning works -

I Have been driving around with a low RPM High Load (tip In) Stumble Since I got the TPI on the car.

Today I decided to stop being lazy and actually see what I could do about it.

So I took a closer look at my roughly approximated(VE masterd Stocker) VE tables.

I noticed that my VE's in the approximate MAP and RPM Range were a little bit higher than they probrably should be.

So I pulled them down by a factor of 20%.

I think smooth out a few peaks and valleys in the overall curve of 90-100 KPA MAP as it progressed from 400-1600 RPM

From this :

To This:

I then took a look at the Upper RPM VE's and noticed they were pretty out of whack too.

So I just sorta smoothed them a bit combining where I knew my combo Made power and just a relativley linear transition :

To This, keep in mind the graphical representation is all relative and not to scale, so these two look drastically differant because I changed the Range of VE's

All that took me maybe 10 minutes - No Scan tool just using my best intuition as to what a fuel map **should** look like ( smooth transition no nessicary peaks in odd places )

And the result was perfect, No more tip in stumble or miss at 4800 RPM (probrably represented but that rediculous peak in the first graph)

Now obviously thats still just a rough approximation and I will need to get ahold of a WB 02 to finish it all up, but it really is that easy folks.

If your engine's not stock and you're not Burning PROM's - Your Missing out.

Car: Guess
Engine: Crazy 8
Transmission: So close to being a manual I can taste it
Thats good advice. I really like TC don't you? What are your thoughts about lots of knock at 3300rpm and rising? I have been getting rid of some of it through spark and fuel adjustments, just slow moving. Maybe you or someone else with more experience with prom buring has some thoughts.
