Just got new cam and valvesprings
While my 383 longblock is being put together, I found a great deal on a small "starter" cam to break in the new motor with and a nice set of valvesprings.
Also, has anyone noticed how similar the flow rates are for ProTopline 180cc and 200cc heads are? If the flow is nearly the same, why shouldnt I just go with the 180cc heads?
Anyway, I picked up an LT4 Hotcam and a set of Crane Cams double valvesprings (rated to 7000 rpm and .600" lift in hyd. roller applications) for $160 from a friend - brand new. I figure the cam will work nice with my HSR and heads - possibly 430hp ( @ flywheel)?
I will have the P/N for the springs tomorrow. Perhaps someone can relate their positive/negative experience to me.
Finally, any comments on how the Hotcam/Protopline/HSR will work with my 383 (Eagle 4340 crank, 4340 H-beam rods, Weisco forged pistons)?
Thanks alot
Kyle
