Dyno results....opinions welcome

I think it's time for a Stealthram! A/F ratio was around 12.3:1 - 12.4:1 during the all the runs. I'd like to get my rwhp up in the 300's and extend my powerband - I think my intake is holding the engine back. What do you guys think?

Basics of my engine setup: 52mm TB, ported/siamesed plenum, ASM SS LTR's, Edelbrock intake base, Edelbrock centerbolt heads, Crane 2050 Compucam and 1.6 roller rockers, 1 5/8" shorty headers, off-road pipe, 3" cat back, Mez electric water pump, underdrive crank pulley, custom Ed Wright prom...

Opinions please.....

Might help. I see you have the typical TPI wall action going on there... lol.

Cam might be too small for that intake though.

Good #'s man, for what ya got. You running a MAF? I think you'd gain 40-50rwhp with a stram. Get one and post the results.

Is the edelbrock base untouched? I think you can see some gains from siameseing the edelbrock base. But a stealthram would be superior to that even so.

Id say with an aftermarket base you ahve there, you "wall" should have been moved upwards... i sugest porting the crap out of it, and runners if you havent done so. Gotttttta love TPI for torque. Awesome street motor.

Thanks guys. I was pleased to see the numbers, I had guessed that I'd be somewhere between 260 and 280 before the run.

It is a MAF car, no screens, no fins. On a WOT run my highest MAF reading is about 210 gm/s, so I'm not MAF limited yet.

The Edelbrock base is untouched, and I have a feeling it is probably the limiting factor in my combo. I could port it, but as you said, the HSR is superior. I also think an untouched edelbrock base might have a higer resale value.

So I'm going to spend the winter accumulating parts for the HSR swap. I'll definitely dyno the car again and post the results when I'm done.

Here's my A/F chart

Your A/F looks good, that's why your #'s are good. Get that restrictive a$$ intake off of there! That's why you're not close to maxing out the MAF. lol

As for MAF cars, here's another one that runs great, without hours of wasted life tinkering with the chip. I want my MAF back.

ps, I know I'm gonna get pissed on for the MAF comment, so bring it.

bah, i love MAF. Do you have the higher-flowing wells unit? Its not about flow, more about velocity of the flow. All that air going in wont go anywhere without some air speed. Hummm gettin rid of that base eh? I might be in touch.

Nope, it's the stock Bosch MAF. I removed the screens, cut out the fins, and smoothed out the entry a bit on the inside of the housing. Pulls the air through a K&N and SLP cold air box. Oh, and I moved my intake air temp. sensor from the plenum to the intake ducting.

My fuel system uses 5 year old Accel 22 lb. injectors and an AFPR set at about 50 psi. I had wondered if it would be worth it to upgrade to 24's, but the A/F charts pretty much answered that question for me.

nah, ya figure the duty cycle was increased with the increase of the fp so probably are pushing near 24lbs anyway.

My highest injector pulse reading on a WOT run was 10mS, but the injector pulse did not remain that high for very long. I'm thinking I may need to upgrade to 24's when I swap intakes, but I'll try it with the 22's and see what numbers I get.
