SuperCharged TPI ?'s

Does anyone know where to get a paxton supercharger for a 87 Iroc wit TPI. Also what is the power limit when building an engine using the stock 350 TPI engine block. Is TPI ok for a supercharged 383 stroker TPI engine..

I would be willing to bet that kit is for 88-92. You'd need to do a full serpentine swap on that '87 to make use of it.

Forget about Paxton. I would suggest getting either a Vortech super charger kit or a Procharger kit. The Procharger is what I would reccomend since it comes with an intercooler. My brother had P1SC model on his 95 T/A and it s a good kit.

They are not as reliable and have limitations compared to the Procharger or Vortechs. The old ball bearing design it way outdated.

you are right but some paxtons last a long time if you have the cooler and change atf and not overspin it

I'm not saying Paxtons are junk they work well. You can get good performance out of the Paxtons, your a good example. But if your gonna spend the money why not get something better that will last in the long haul.

You're the guy I've been looking for. I have a 91' 305TPI that runs very well that I want to supercharge until its time to replace with a 350. So you say ProCharger would be your suggestion for the best application for my vehicle???

I think the Procharger would be the best choice.

Kind of related:

A friend of mine was saying that the procharger was harder on the engine than any other systems. He said that since it made more boost, it was harder on the engine while street driving.

That's what boost controllers are for. If you're going to SC do it right.
