Re: doing injectors on 90 iroc 5.7 tpi

Fel-pro makes an intake gasket kit that comes with pretty much everything. It doesn't come with an EGR gasket, or throttle body gaskets. I just did mine, I got the fel-pro kit for something like $30 from autozone, TB gasket set for like $7, and EGR gasket was a couple bucks. You can choose not to pull off the EGR, and not to pull apart the throttle body if you want. I went ahead and pulled the lower intake off, and cleaned up everything while it was apart. Also, there's a tech article on replacing the injectors. It's pretty straightforward, just tedious:

What size of injectors did you guys end up putting in? Cuz I'm doing an edelbrock intake and I was thinking while I'm in there I may aswell do injectors.

Just remember, if you change the size of the injector (go bigger), you will need to have your ECM chip programmed for a different size injector.

If you plan on new injectors your probably talking Bosch 3's 22lb,ers with just minor mods. Remember to inform your seller that you have an edelbrock intake as the injector mod,s are a little different then the stock TPI

K cool thanks. And " red rock" I see you say you have the 52 throttle body. Did you do bbl and did you have to tune your computer to it? And " just cruzin" if you know you can tell me to ha, the guys at the local parts shop seem to think that for either a 52 or 58 mm you don't have to tune anything which I find hard to believe

My mistake, stock on a 305 is 19LB 22lb on a 350

I'm guessing you mean "BBK", if you did, yes i have a BBK 52mm. And no you don't have to reprogram your chip for that. All a throttle body does is allow air to enter the plenum and motor. My plenum and SLP runners and Edelbrock intake have all been ported. I did this in increments, so when i replace my heads and cam, i will have the intake done. I do have a stage 2 chip already in with some other bolt on mods done already done. Any time you get into the motor with cams and heads you should have a dyno tune done for peak performance. Basically if you have a stock motor, a bigger throttle body is a waste of money. I just did a little at a time to save a big chunk of money later down the road. I hope i answered you question correctly.

Re: doing injectors on 90 iroc 5.7 tpi

Ya man thanks. And I did mean bbk. I have aftermarket pistons, it's cammed up and has edelbrock heads and runners and intake are on their way. Buy they way that beotch of an intake cost 840 bucks. K I'll grab a 52 bbk from the shop and throw it on a get it tuned. It's tough to find guys to tune these cars up in canada eh, everyones got their stupid speed3s and gti's sitting on the dynos. Thanks for the help man, huge help

Re: doing injectors on 90 iroc 5.7 tpi

Oh ya and the reason I don't know all the specs on the upgrade is cuz I bought it from a guy that sent the car away for a rebuild and I never got the exact specs, ha only what parts where done but not the particulars. Ha makes me look like a real dud when people ask what I have done to it
