Where to get Cold Air Intake
I have heard that there are cold air intakes for our cars. I also heard they are pretty expensive. I was wondering if any of you knew of any websites that have pics or and of you have pics. Iw ould like some more info on these products.
Thanks

SLP makes them and are probably the best but I have only talked to one person with a cold air intake on a 3rd gen and it was an SLP and he said it was great. Check them out.

They are on sale at SLP right now. I bought mine new/used. Guy never used it. It is good quality but a bit over priced new. The on sale price isnt too bad. Well it was on sale...

have it and love it. little overpriced but looks nice installed and is high quality. you need to relocate the charcoal canister to the drivers side of the block, SLP gives you everything you need. ask Santa, he got me one 2 years ago

I have a cheap alternative.
Some people critisized me for cutting my battery tray, but frick'em.
Look under my MODS, then click on the aircleaner to see some picks.
Also, check out some other good ideas under the tech articles on thirdgens homepage.

For awhile I had a home made then switched to the SLP dual cold air intake. I bought mine used from a guy in Hawaii. I am very happy with the unit.

One SLP kit installed on my red '88 GTA for over two years now..... and one more kit on the way. Excellent item, IMO.
I highly recommend it.

I am having my 305 TPI rebuilt, I am having all the emissions removed, so the charcoal canister will be gone ?? I believe this will allow for the SLP Cold Air to fit in. Can somebody back me up ?
Thanks

i use a custom setup as well relocating my battery; depending on your mods the slp can be restrictive, as well as being overpriced for some plastic tubing. you can have something made to replicate it for 1/3 the price. unless you get a deal on the unit i would pass.

For the longest time I had a "homemade" Cold Air setup that I made w/ 3" exhaust pipe and a K&N cone filter. It did its job, but then I got a good deal on the SLP kit and I like it much better.
Here is the exhaust one:
Here is the SLP one: (note, I had to relocate the battery since my car used to be carbed)
