Re: Best cold air kit??

You could go to any small private owned muffler shop and they could bend you a pipe anyway you want it. If you want, they can also bend the pipe to reach further down past the charcoal canister and then go to autozone and put on a filter. It would cost less and produce more power. If not that option, cut your stock air filter can some vents around it to let in more air and call it a day.

Homemade is the best.
There isn't a true aftermarket CAI out there for the birds.

Re: Best cold air kit??

i have not long fitted my ram air hood and air filter eliment and i am VERY pleased with the results! it has a gorgeous sounding induction roar, looks bad ***, and anything over 40/50mph i just have to tap the throttle and it PULLS!! SOOOO responsive.

Re: Best cold air kit??

I went the $50 EBay route for my CAI and have been pretty pleased so far. It looks a little "blingy" with the polished tubing, but fits well and was a 15 minute install.

Re: Best cold air kit??

yeah i was thinking of getting the EBAY CAI and then getting an extension to run it just about as close to the ground as possible, cut out the battery box. the ram air hood would be perfect, but its about 500$ over my price range lol i love the looks and im sure it sounds awesome, how does that work? do they make a sealed airbox that works with tpi?
also does anyone know where i can get a "ram air scoop" kind of like what "March" makes for mustangs with the scoop under the car feeding an airbox?
im thinking i could fab that up and it would be close to the performance of the hood with half the cost, looking at the mustang kit it might actually bolt up with little to no mods http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MCH-1410/?image=large
just looks like id need to find a way to go from the rectangular opening on the airbox to the round one that feeds a TPI engine, unless i get hold of an air box that i can mod to accept the round ram air tube then its a piece of cake, I should market this!
