Need tuned port help
B4 everyone starts to flame me my vehicle is not an f body vehicle its a Chevy truck. but i have put a tune port in it and i figured the TPI section here could help me maybe. im looking for a decent cam for my rig it has 3.42 gears and a 5 speed. also im thinking long tube headers with glass-packs right behind them (if that's a good combo) im looking for a power adder but still decent economy im running a hyper tech 180* Chip in the ecm and the truck is mostly a street truck. the tpi unit is out of a 88 camaro 305 and my truck motor is a 350 bored .030 over and stock heads and im planing on running a 50-75hp shot of Giggle Juice any help would be grateful.

well for the price of a new cam, I think you would probably be better off getting a custom cam for a few extra 20s... or probably even the same price of a production cam... you could try elliotsportworks.com... see what advice they give you... you see, the problem I see is that you will lose performance if you go with a certain cam, because of the ECM ... if you get a wild cam, the ECM will think your engine is spassing out and will try to adjust its parameters making it either run too lean or too rich... best bet would be a custom cam... again this is just my opinion ... if you go with a production cam, your choices will be limited... as you will need a cam that is intended for a computer controlled vehicle...

cheap and easy would be LT4 hotcam or zz4.You could call comp and they could recomend something similar with a more up to date grind for a little extra coin.comp grinds gm cams and has similar cams to what i mentioned but with better ramp rates and performance.

Re: Need tuned port help
I have a friend that worked for ISKY cams and he grinds all his own cams anyways he made me a copy of comp cams 280h and its specs are this: Duration 280*int 280*exh. 230* at .050. lobe center 110 and intake center-line 106 is this going to be too much cam for the TPI or am i going wrong with this cam?

That souinds like a little much for a tpi.Call comp and tell them what you have and what you want to do and they`ll give you a good recommendation.

Re: Need tuned port help
A nice cam for the OP's orginal question I think would be the Crane Cams POWERMAX 2032. Will work with the stock tune and tpi setup with no problems and makes great power.
