I would still take yours. I would want to know what its putting out. I have a 305 tbi and it dynoed 150hp and 250tq. it only had a air filter and exhaust at the time.

Re: Dyno Dissapoitment
Remember, you loose about 20% through the drive train, so that would put you a little over 220 hp at the crank. I see you have an '85, so the 350 was added to your camaro? How good of a tune do you have?

Re: Dyno Dissapoitment
I think the tune is a big part of it. I am still running the 870 ecm and some prom I got that ran better then the stock one not even sure where it came from.
The 350 was added along with a mild street cam and 24lb blue top injectors. The trans has a 2500 stall converter and a nasty shift kit.
The car runs like a beast chirps hard into 2nd. It doesn't feel like 183HP

Re: Dyno Dissapoitment
I thought that as well. I almost think the guy driving it didnt stay in it. I only told him that I had a rev limit set at 5600 by the msd.
As far as exhaust I have Flowtech shortys into a flowtech y pipe hollow cat and flowmaster cat back I think its 3".
This pretty much sealed the deal for me on a tune or ecm swap. I am on the fence with getting megasquirt or a ebl flash both are very close in price.

Re: Dyno Dissapoitment
Yea, something isn't right. For both to peak at 3600 rpm and H.P. dropping off like that by 4300 rpm. I wouldn't worry too much about the numbers from this pull. Get it tuned properly and then dyno it again.
My car is carbed, but the lessoned learned is the same. When I first got my motor running, it wouldnt even chirp the tires. Now, just through tuning, I can spin them up to 70 and maybe past, and it runs 112 in the quarter. Tuning can make all the difference in the world.

Re: Dyno Dissapoitment
It seems to me like you have a tuning problem (fuel and timing) and possibly a restriction somewhere giving a quick dropoff...

As an example, when I put my TPI 350 with 24lb injectors into my 85, and reused the original PROM, I ran a best 1/4 mile time of 16.1. That's worse than a stock TPI 305 ran in 85. Since swapping to a 165 ECM with a custom tune, swapping to a T5 (whose performance benefit is negligible), and adding a couple small bolt-ons (runners, accel base, etc), I've gotten the same car with the same motor to run as fast as 13.6 in the 1/4. So yes, the tune is vitally important.
