Re: tpi cam replacement
Are you planning on changing only the cam, or modifying the entire valve train? Are you planning on a PROM change for the ECM? Those variables might dictate your range of choices.

I would like to change just the cam and lifters with something suitable for stock not looking to have a chip burned for the ECM or upgrade the valve train

Re: tpi cam replacement
With a MAF car you could probably get away without tuning if the cam upgrade is mild. Suggest something like a ZZ4 cam. 208/221 @.050 on a 112 LSA. It'll idle and drive like stock, but give a nice power increase that will still be well matched to a TPI engine.

Re: tpi cam replacement
Just put one of these in a friends 91 formula 350. I really like it. I don't remember using the older cam chain sprocket but maybe we did. I'd see if you can have it made with the correct roller cam bolt pattern.

Re: tpi cam replacement
GM has one. 214-220 duration and a lil more lift than stock and it's only $100. Copy of the old 2032 cam. 9446 I think. I've read a lot of folks like it and shouldn't be too far out there on the tune. Stock 91-92 cam is what 202-207 duration? Got to be a bit of an upgrade.
