Trany???
I am haveing a new trany put into my car, and i was wondering if any body out there knows about some kind of transmisson oil control *** ( sorry i don't know the real name to that pice) that is by your carb and allows you to adjust the amount off transmission oil that goes through your trany. will if any body out there knows what i am talking about i have some Q's that i would like to ask you:
1. First of all what is the name of that thing?
2. How much hp do you get by pulling the *** all the way out if any?
3. What good thing's come from haveing that in your car?
4. Is there a way that I can control it from the inside of my car and if so how?
5. If i where to drive aroud with it at max flow will it harm my trany in some kind of a way?
Will i think that those are all the Q's for right now and if anybody can answer them it would grate thank's.

I have no idea what you are asking about. I wonder if you are thinking about the TV cable. This is a cable that attaches to the carb (or throtle body) and the transmission. I don't know a lot about it other than it tells the tranny how hard you are gassing it so the tranny adjusts the fluid pressure to make the shifts work best for that amount of throttle. Anybody else here? Am I close on that one?

can make you have a bit better acceleratin if it makes your tranny upshift when needed when stomping the gas, if it doesnt do so thne its probably not adjusted correctly, and car can be boggy on acceleration in most cases.
to adjust correctly, take and press down on the D handle lock button thats depressed into the part of the cable housing deal(just behind the intake manifold bracket it is locked into) and push the cable **** thingy that you see just in front of the bracket all the way towards rear of ca then let go of the lock button and then manuallly open the thorttle of the caburetor all the way open and the cable should 'click' when it getsa pulledc oout of the housing a lil, thats it its set, or at least should be,
the goal is to have the cable come out of the housing enough to not restrict the throttle blades in carb from nopt being open all the way yet have no slack in cable when they are open all the way, i remember doping the adjustment to my 700r4 because i was losing my 2-3 shift bad and wow it fixed that plus more, the car is like a brand new car now, and thats with a crappy '84 700r4 tranny even,
good luck
