Tranny Mounts?

I have noticed that my shifter shakes when the car is on. I am thinking it is the tranny mounts. Are thay hard to replace? I am just wondering if i need to have a shop do it.
Anyone know how much for parts and labor?
Thanks

An Energy Suspension mount from Summit is about $20. It's not hard to do yourself; if you get it done, I would say they should only charge 0.5 hr labor.

It isn't hard to replace a tranny mount. All you have to do is put the front wheels of the car on drive up ramps and secure the back wheels with wheel stops. Put a jack under the tranny with a block of wood in between (so you don't damage the tranny), then take off the nut that holds the tranny to the crossmember on the car. Jack up the tranny till you can remove all bolts that hold the mount to the tranny and replace with whatever mount you want. Attach the mount with the nutsfrom the old one, lower the jack and replace the crossmember nut, and your done.

I did mine in about two hours with almost no complications. The Hayes manuel is a good source for these kinds of repairs.

Maybe someone else has had better luck with it than me, but I had severe vibration problems from a poly trans mount. I changed it back to a new stock rubber trans mount, and I had no more vibration problems.

Just my 2 cents.
