had the vette servo put in today...what a difference!!
Just thought I would share my experiance w/ you guys. Tranny never shifted right into third when I got it, always soft. So the young fool that I was I figured Id throw a shift kit in it(B&M ). Well that only amplified the problem so after many years of jjust dealing with it I had the tranny rebuilt w/ TCI internals, and guess what, same problem!!! So after a little online research I fogured what the hell let me try the vette servo. Wouldnt ya know it shifts great now!! Nice positive shift goin into third when Im on it and smooth yet fast when Im not.
So moral of the story: If you have a 700r4 with the stock servo buy the vette servo and pay someone $50 to throw it in(It would have been a pain to do this without a lift, Id rather pay the money)!!

How does your first to second shift feel under moderate accelleration? I have the bm kit just like yours and not happy with the shift.I have a 700r4 in my 79 Malibu with a 350tpi, mine kinda feels like a hesitation for a millisecond going from first to second. Under full throttle it hits very firm and with very little throttle it hits firm. Would the vette servo help my tranny firm up the first to second shift under moderate acceleration? Thanks Cleve

when i installed my servo it really firmed up 1-2 shift and barely firmed up mt 2-3 shift, thats why i installed the boost valve and that firmed up both shifts....the rear of my car used to kick out to to the pass side and chirp 2nd hard, till i got the posi, now it just makes the tires scream at wot 1-2, i really enjoy my set up but i have a feeling my tranny dosent like it too much and probably isnt long for this world, but it hasnt shown any indication of letting go

i also installed the .500 boost valve and really firmed up 1st into 2nd shift and now ordered the billet servo to firm up 3rd also.

I had my tranny rebuilt a lil more than a year ago and had a vette torque converter and servo installed at the same time. WOW what a difference in a 1-2 shift. I don't have a shift kit, but when i'm at a dead stop and hit it you can tell the difference. The car won't peel at the stop, but accelerates forword about 10 ft then peels out and then when it shifts to 2nd it peels again. Other than that there isn't really a difference when you get past 2nd.

the billet servos have more holding area so itll be firmer then a corvette servo performance automotive transmission center sell it,but others do to.$85 itll help 1-2 and 2-3,also can be put in from the outside without dropping the pan.
the mega valve.500 really helped out 1-2 shift.

By making the shifts faster/harder does that prolong the life of the transmission and make it run cooler?? I am needing to fix my 700r-4 up when I swap to a 350. How much HP is safe with a 700R-4??
