Clutch pedal problem

Last night I was stopped at a light with the car in 1st gear, and for some reason the bar that goes from the clutch pedal to the firewall came off the pedal.

I haven't ventured to take it apart yet, but have any one else had a problem like this, and how do I fix it?? Do I need parts?

Thanks

Car: `86 SS / `87 SS
Engine: L69 w/ TPI on top / 305 4bbl
Transmission: `95 T56 \ `88 200-4R
Push it back onto the pedal.

Use a clip for a BRAKE PEDAL so that it never comes off again. This may require trimming of the plastic bushing.

But the clip is broken, and the local parts store doesn't sell it...
