Tranny broke, out of ideas!?!?!

Long story short, i picked up my car from an auction a few months back. Had her outside my shop's garage, gave her a lil launch into the shop, turned her off, and walked away.

A few days later, went to to move the car, and i couldnt get her into gear. Had the clutch in all the way, couldnt even get the car into 1-5 at all. However, when trying to put it in reverse, the trans would grind.

Began exploring a bit, had my buddy push the clutch while i looked at the slave cyl, and its movin the clutch fork.

Now, Im stuck. Could it be a shattered clutch disk? A buddy of mine mentioned a spring coming loose or something. Any help would be appreciated!

I had this happen before, the springs that go around the center hub on the clutch disc can fly out and wedge themselves in between the disc and the flywheel and this will cause it to drag (not release) This happens when you side step the clutch. It happened on my S10 I had to cram it into every gear to make it home. I don't know for sure if this is your problem but it is a possibility.

You basically have to remove the entire trans. to get at the clutch. It is a lot of work to see what happened. I would first make sure that it is your clutch not releasing before going any further. Good luck.
