Jegster torque arm and transmission tunnel mount

I have a question about this product.

I currently have a 350/T-5 combo in my car. Right now, the stock torque arm mounts to the tailshaft of the transmission. Well the mount just broke so I have to either replace it, or go to a different setup. I was thinking about getting the jegster setup so I don't have to worry about it breaking again, plus it advertises another 50% of rear wheel downforce on launch which would be nice to.

My question is, I will be doing a LS1/T-56 swap in a little bit, and I need to know if I would still be able to use the jegster setup, or would I have to go back to the stock torque arm and use the special x-member for the t-56?

Can anyone clear any of this up for me, thanks in advance

The Jeg's system relocates the torque arm mount to the tunnel; and replaces the arm with a shorter one.

It will work fine with a T-56.

Does the Jegs mount perform? I cannot use a Spohn, due to my Mufflex "Y" pipe. If it does mount in the tunnel, would it take the wasted motion from the tailshaft, and transfer it to the body effective like the Spohn arm?

It mounts to the tunnel itself, which is just sheet metal. This doesn't seem entirely satisfactory.

A real torque arm & crossmember replacement, such as the Spohn, mounts to the "frame", such as it is, of the unibody.

I haven't ever used one, so I don't know if its suspension geometry change is enough to offset the fact that it's connected to a somewhat weak point of the car.

Well as it is right now, its mounted to the tail of the transmission with a flimsy (in my opinion) peice of metal.

How could a big plate of metal bolted to about 2 square feet of underbody be less strong?

I need to go look at the spohn website and see how much that will cost me......

Will the spohn t-56 transmission crossmember and torque arm combo work with a t-5 until I get a t-56?

One of the locals out here in the middle of nowhere put the leaf springs out of a 2nd gen car under his 3rd gen so he could forget all this torque arm stuff. He runs in the 10's, says it wasn't that big of a hassle.

IHI is running the jegs torque arm and reports no problems. I'll be buying it shortly now that they have an adjustable one out, and I plan on tying the cage into the floor mount from a 6 point to an 8 point welded to the floor in that point to tie everything together.
