Throttle valve cable to throttle clip broken
The plastic clip that connects the throttle valve cable to the throttle body broke. Just wondering if this part is available at parts stores? The original clip is slid over the wire between the adjustment bracket and the end of the cable that has a permanent metal "lug" on the end to keep the clip from falling off. Do they make a replacement that will clip "around" the end of the cable? I really hope i dont need to replace the entire cable.
Just looking for suggestions before i run out to the parts stores.

well, came up empty handed at pepboys and autozone. going to try a transmission shop tomorrow, hopefully they have something. For now i just connected the cable to the throttle with some metal wire until i can find a permanent solution. Here is a picture of the broken clip. Do they make a replacement clip that will slide over the lug of the cable? or will i have to cut the lug off and crimp something else on the end?

If you cannot find a replacement end, they are about 25 bucks at the dealer. May be worth it so you don't have to run all over town! Just my 2 cents

25 bucks for that little clip? ouch. Do you know if it will slide over the "lug" of the cable, or do i have to cut the lug off the cable and crimp some other kind of stop onto the end?

I was not very clear in my post. What I meant to say was the complete cable fron the plastic clip all the way down to the trans is about 25 bucks. Not a bad price really.

well one of the transmissions shops was able to locate a replacement clip for me. it is designed so removal of the cable is not nessacery. Great time saver and you dont have to worry about rigging something up that might fail later. heres a pic. Just thought this might be helpful if anyone runs into the same problem.
