Broken Shifter?

Okay I think this is the right forum. I just browke the bolt that goes from bottem of the shifter lever. So I have about 3" of a metal collar that went over the bolt to shift with.

Does anyone know where to get this part from? I REALLY need it ASAP as shifting like this isnt good on my hands.
Also I cant shift fast so I think its not good on the car either

THis is a manual shifter btw stock T-5 tranny, HELP!

It really wouldn't be too tough to make a shifter stick that threaded onto the shifter itself, and took the **** (M16x1.5 thread) but if it's solid metal, it'll be noisier than stock (rubber isolated)

You apparently just broke the stock shifter stick and that's all.

Annd....any ideas where I can get a replacement? All of the local junkyards are bare of manual transmissions, much less the shift stick.

Buy a Hurst shifter for it. That's what I'd do.

although you may as well call a dealer in the AM and see if the part is available.

Well I just need that one peice replaced not the entire shifter. Also I understand that you get alog of noise with the aftermarket ones. Don't need more noise

Naah. The Hurst isn't noisy. The stock shift really does suck in comparison too.

if it helps the threads on the bottom of the shifter are 14mmx2.5 i believe. cant you just take the bottom part and take it off, take the broken part and take it to a exhaust shop and have em weld it? itll take not even 2 seconds and they probably wont even charge you for it, any place that has a welder will probably do it for free, itll be just as strong as stock if they run a bead all the way around. like i said should only take like 2 seconds and itll cost next to nothin if not free. its worth a shot.

Well here are pics of the thing, And I jus found out that 83-84 were the ONLY years to use this shifter according to GM. And with allthe rubber inside, i donno how well they could weld it back togther.

Does ANYONE have one they would be able/willing to part with?

Okay they are now welded togther, but its a crap job...So for the T-5 whats the shifter recommended?

Comp Plus is no longer made. Billet Plus is. Kinda narrows down the choices.
