Six Speed Leak !!! Damn This New Combo
Well last night was a night of horror. Ive had my RS back from the shop for less than a leak and find out that something is wrong with my brake lights (ie. not coming on when i depress the brakes, which was the opposite of always staying on because the contacts were loose and always touching which the shop was supposed to fix) AND now my beautiful t-56 seems to have sprung a leak. Not to mention i have to send my tach back to autometer cause i think i fried it , which means im now driving around with no tach, no speedo, and no brake lights!
It doesnt look like the trans is leaking when i drive ( I dont see and blowback on any other parts of the trans). It only seems like its when im parked that it drips. And its not a heavy drip, just enough to **** me off and make me worry about my car. Now my problem is that I am 150 miles from my shop because i started a new job away from my house and am living with relatives for a month. Is there any way to stop the leak without having to drop the whole trans and re-seal it? The leak looks like its coming from up in the front near the bellhousing, not in the back by the shifter.
Thanks

Find the leak first. Then fix it, but if you don't know where it's coming from, then no one here can really help you.

clean it up well with clean brake or something...jack up the car put it on stands watch it run...if no leak drive it around jack it up and take another look.
Should be able to narrow it down to wear exactly its coming from pretty much

Well i got the brakes working last night. It seems one of the senders that have the white release pins was bent so it never disengaged. Yea i guess ill just have to clean in up, drive it around and look it over. Its not leaking fast enough to really sit there and watch it ( kind of like watching the grass grow). Maybe ill get lucky on it. Im going to have to take it back into the shop that sealed it up when i go home this weekend. Jerks. O well, all thats left is to return my tach to autometer, and to figure out how to wire that damned SGI-5 box.
