Tranny not pumping fluid
1992 rs 305 with factory everything
what could be the problem if the tranny is not pumping fluid, & tranny will not shift, first & reverse works fine, but will not shift out of first gear.
tranny had been leaking from the front of the tranny, & when it got cold the other day, it just stopped shifting, it is full of fluid.
if the tranny pump was bad would first & reverse still work?
what else could be the problem?

If this happened all at once, take off the governor cover and remove the governor and you most likely find that the teeth are broken or stripped. This is common.

Re: Tranny not pumping fluid
because it's not leaking from the front seal area anymore,
it only leaked when the engine was running & the car was shifting ok,
now it doesnt leak & doesent shift.
