4th gen rear Question
I am looking into doing the 4th gen rear swap on my camaro but she is a 90 RS and I have disc in the front but drums on the back. The 4th gen should have disc so will it hook up or will I have to get something or what?

Re: 4th gen rear Question
Although it's a direct bolt in, there is no strength difference between your 90 diff and a fourth gen. The fourth gen diff is about 2" wider on each side so you'll either need to use fourth gen rims or buy new ones for the proper backspace so they won't stick out of the fenders.
If all you're after is the disk brakes, just put them on your 90 diff.

Re: 4th gen rear Question
OK so is there a kit I can grab to add disc breaks to the back wheels or what do i have to buy? Also I really don't mind the wheels sticking out I think it gives it a beastly look but you said my thirdgen rims will not fit on them?

Re: 4th gen rear Question
The wheels will fit, but they will look funny because they will stick out. I have an 91 RS and I swapped in a 4th gen posi/disk rear. Just search (4th gen rear, drum to disk swap), I got all my info on here, and this has been covered multiple times. Feel free to hit me up on AOL IM or a PM.
If you want to keep you 3rd gen wheels, just get a 3rd gen rear with disks and swap that in.

Re: 4th gen rear Question
I did a 4th gen rear swap, and Im running 16 inch irocs, I kinda like the look, it only sticks out of the fender about 1/8-1/4 inch on each side.

But remember everybody, this is just my opinion. But it's food for thought.
