Transmission Tailshaft Seal - Leaking
Mine seems to be leaking (about 2 dime sizes ever week). Are they hard to replace? Do i need to drop the tranny to do it? Should i replace the seal or the bearing too? Do i need any special tools to do the job?
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Transmission Tailshaft Seal - Leaking
Anyone? can i just for the time being put a small bead of silicone around the tailshaft to prevent it from leaking?

pull the drive shaft, take an 13mm- 15mm open end wrench and get part of the wrench behind the seal, pop it out. use a big socket the size of the new seal and hammer it in lightly till its seated properly.

Sweet, seems pretty easy. I take it i will have to drain the fluid first?

Be sure to put a little oil on the driveshaft yoke so your new seal is lubricated on start-up.

This is the one I used, and the part number is there. I'm sure there are plenty of other names for it, but this is all you have to search for. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...0_3498%2C10492
