When I bought my 84 camaro 3 months ago with a dieing low compression engine I had no information on the car and got it so cheap I bought it. Back then when it was in its best running condition if I stomped it from a standstill my tires would not even spin but it would ride all the way to red line and spin into second spinning through the gear for at least 2 or 3 seconds I can also stay in first gear for a very long time if I choose in parking lots etc I was told that there was a shift kit in my tranny but as the motor died it wouldnt spin anymore but i just bolted in a new 350 270 hp and i was wondering if when I get it running will the spinning into second be more uncontrollable because it is much more powerful engine or if the shift kit will work better with a more powerful engine and have less spin and more pull? Also I want to know how to find out if I have a shift kit or what kind ?
