Eveeything is in the question...
I'm wondering if it fits, if it changes the rear track, and if it will accept 3rd gen BMR 3rd gen rear suspension system

Thx

It is the same 10-bolt except for the axle housing length being 3" wider overall.

Re: 1996 axle in a 1983 ?

The following from the 10-Bolt FAQ might be an interesting read:

What 10-Bolt Will Swap into My Car?
Any third- or fourthgen. While a fourthgen rear is a direct bolt-in, it'll be 2" wider or a bit less per side (note the link below for more info about width). Also, take note that if the gear ratio is changed in a swap, for example 3.08's to 3.42's, the speedo won't read correctly unless the transmission's drive and/or driven gears are changed. If you have a T-5, note the following link for gears and a how-to: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tr...ve-driven.html (T-5 Drive/Driven Gear Info--Please Contribute)
The following link provides more info about the fourthgen rear/swap: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/fa...-gen-rear.html (Thinking 4th gen rear? Swap info inside)

Either cancel it or swap in an entire 4th gen rear.
