Damn lack of confidence.........
91' WS6 LO3 700R4 Needs TV cable adjustment? Don't want to make things worse! Pointers? I did A full tranny swap on my 73'Charger (torqueoflite) myself (15 years ago) and don't remember a TV cable....Back to my 3rd Gen. LAST summer 2010 did fluid/filter change, seemed better til colder weather. Shifted funny only while colder, blasted TV cable with WD40 at the throttle and tranny helped some. This summer better. Colder weather is back and she shifts funny cold again. I'm almost 39 and don't drive like I did when I was 16 so I take it easy while she warms up, don't want to screw my tranny! Already read "TV madeEZ by Bowties" Should have I replaced the TV plunger spring while doing my fluid change or can I adjust the TV cable? The colder she is, the funnier she shifts, HELP a blue collar wanna be mechanic....... Thx!

same for tbi, I like to adjust my cable back in a click or 2 for hight line pressure and a fast and firm shift.

You need to explain a little better exactly what you mean when you say it shifts "funny". Do you mean that it's shifting to early or too late, or is it that it shuttles back and forth quickly between two different gears? If it's shifting too early or late, then it's almost guaranteed it's the adjustment on the TV cable. The reason I ask about shuttling, is when I first got my 89 Camaro, it'd jump back and forth between 3rd and 4th gear really quickly, especially when it was cold. If that's your problem, B&M sells a 3/4 downshift valve that cures the problem. The "valve" they sell is actually a modified TV plunger sleeve. The stock TV sleeve is designed to force a downshift at anything more than 1/2 throttle pedal travel. The B&M sleeve doesn't force a downshift until the gas pedal is pushed down to 3/4 travel. A lot of times when you're just cruising along, it's easy to push the pedal down more than halfway. So when you're hovering around 1/2 travel on the gas pedal, it'll shift back and forth between 3rd and 4th like crazy! Mine did this a lot when the trans was cold, and it used to drive me nuts! The B&M valve cured that problem.
