what the hell did i break (700r4)

Car: 89 RS 89 iroc 87 firebird
Engine: 3.1 Turbo/ 355 twin turbo
Transmission: a4 w/ 4500 stall/ a4 / t5
Axle/Gears: strange s60 /w 3:42's
what the hell did i break (700r4)
the issues are i only have 1st gear it will not upshift into any other gear(even manually shifted) and has no reverse.
when moving the car in first gear there is no engine braking at all,let off the gas an its liek the car is neutral
what happened was i was out cruising and i decided to test my antilag setup. so i was rolling down the street in second gear and pressed the antilag button and went wot.the antilag keeps the motor at 2500 rpms while adding fuel/retarding the gnition timming and droping spark to allow raw fuel into the turbo headers.it worked perfect boost jumped right up i let go of the button and the car jumped heard a loud band then the motor just free reved and bounced off the limiter.
so far ive checked the fluid, its not burnt up, shifter linkage is adjusted properly as is the tv cable.
no funny whining or noises from the transmissions.
i do plan on pulling the valve body down tommorow and taking a look
u guys have any ideas on things i can check with the trans in the car that might cause this before i yank it out and start tearing it down

Could be wrong, but don't think a gov gear will kill reverse.... cars will generally shift into R even sitting dead still. Most will anyway.

the trans has some decent parts in it
tci master race rebuild kit
megaboost valve
beast sunshell
manaul/auto shiftkit manual in all ranges except od
vette servo
if it is the sprag do they take out the case like they do in other transmissions when they go out in the 700r4

put the car up on jackstands and wound the motor up in first and tried to shift to third and got nothing so it apears to deff be the sprag, if the sunshell was broke it would have still shifted into 3rd.
time to drop the trans and see what the carnage is if its not to bad ill have to see if theres an upgraded sprag available if not ill have to go with a th400,4l80 or 2004r

the issue is not so much the broken part, it's the metal shavings which are now everywhere
to do it correctly, you aren't going to like what you hear

I would do the 200r4. Unless you wanna make your own crossmember for the 4L80. BMR was making one.

i have broke spags. before..no fun. most of the time they/mine would let go. it was at mid track..after the car would drive fine. you just cound not shift under alot of power.(sounded like a blender with nuts and bolts in it)
upgrade to the 5 pinon sprags front and back. there are some other parts now you can add to it now has well.

already ahead of ya,everything is comming apart for inspection and replacement if necasary, i may even do all new clutches and steels just cause its apart
