Shifter Shaft seal 4L60 leaking, Corvette
My car is a 93 Corvette. The shifter shaft seal is leaking very little, but enough to leave a puddle over time. I travel allot so it sits allot.
The exhaust, even if taken out would not allow one of the universal tools to fit to tap the new seal in.
Has anyone seen, have, a Kent Moore tool GM would give, recommend, their techs to use? There has to be a specific tool which allows this seal to be pressed in by means of turning a tool using the selector shaft as a holder.
Thanks in advance.

I replaced this seal into a stripped 4L60E case and believe me, it needs to be driven in. This little seal has a rather thick metal body compared to something like a extension housing or pump seal. It also needs to be started straight into the case or it will get damaged (don't ask how I know this).
If you can, drop the exhaust system and lower the back end of the trans to see if this will get you some hammer clearance.
