crankshaft seal
Hi, everyone. I'm new here, just got a 1988 base model camaro.
I need to replace the crankshaft seal, do I need to get any gasket or something or I can replace just the seal?
Does anyone have any recommended dealer or the part number? I live in Colombia, so I want to make sure I have the right parts, the customs cost a lot of time and money.
Any link will be appreciated!!
Thank you!!

Re: crankshaft seal
If this is the 2.8l V6 engine, check the distributor o-ring. It seals a pressurized oil passage and can make it look like there is a main seal leak.
There is also a cam block off plate on the rear of the block, which can also leak quite a bit of oil. If you pull the trans for the main seal, may as well do the cam block off seal/gasket at the same time.
But be sure to check the distributor first. That one is an easy fix. May also want to check the valve cover gaskets, as if they are leaking it is an easy fix.
