surprised no one ever replied to this with so many ppl having done a rear seal. is rubber fine then? why do they offer teflon? need to buy one so i can start putting it on.

also do the bolts on the seal housing need to be torqued?

Wow.... a ghost from the past....

The difference is the material they're made out of.

I personally prefer the Teflon/silicone kind, like from Mr Gasket.

rubber is all i've ever used but since rb keeps talking about tefelon valve seal i've decided to give them a try and maybe will try tefelon crank seals too.

The only problem I can see with teflon is that it is much harder than rubber and will have more of a tendency to cause wear on the object that it is sealing against.
