STB = Bad Vibration...help please?!?!
i just purchased a 3 point strut tower brace from BMRFabrication.com. I installed it according to the directions and when i took it out for a test drive the first thing a heard was an enourmouse grinding sound which sounded like something was rubbing on it but yet nothing is touching it from the engine. the second thing i felt was a bad vibration when hitting the brakes which i didn't have before. Should i be aware of something? i emailed BMR and they thought i should call because i can't explain my question well enough for them to understand it....idiots! anyways, i'm telling you what i told them. does strenghtening the chassis make more stress for other components to make this crap occur on my car??? thanks

How did you install the brace? Did you have to loosen up any of the strut tower bolts (which would throw the front end out of alignment)?

what i did was this....
i installed the tower brace first with everything loose and then marked spots and drilled. when i added the brace and bolts everything fit snug. i then added the 3 point part of it and that fit snug. i then tightened everything down to specs and then that's it.

I dont' think it's the STB. I think you have a brake problem. Check your front rotors and pads. If you still think it's the STB, take it off, and see if it still happens.

it WAS the STB!!!!! i figured it out. for everyone who wants to get a STB from BMR Fabrication you have to use a washer between the inner bolts on each tower in between the brace and the metal. I guess the miniture gap that was there made a whole difference. Boy i'm glad i figured it out before i got really pissed at BMR. You would think they would tell you that you need a extra piece to make the STB work!!!!! thanks for the help
