Back to stock I go

Well it seems my Beretta top end isn't working quite like I thought so I am going back to stock until I find a new engine. I was thinking of investing in a salvaged Northstar or maby a nice LT1 out of this old Roadmaster my buddie has sitting around, does anyone have any sugestions.

This pic isn't up to date it is from when I first started

im kinda working on the northstar setup, by that i mean doing some R&D on the subject, and getting my northstar built (slowly) while i decide what type of setup i'm going to go with....i keep jumping between FI and carb, carb for simplicity and power but fi for the looks of a modern vehicle and fuel economy emissions. dunno. And lt1 swap would work good, wouldn't do a roadmaster or impala engine however, the TBI setup they used doens't allow the type of power (in factory setup) that the TPI/SFI unit the T/A's and Maro's and vettes were running, hence they're lower power output numbers. Good luck on whatever u decide, there's a pretty good chance that i may not be the first northstar if someone else picks up the torch, cause i'm taking my merry ole' time preppin for this whole thing....very merry time.

How hard would it be to mount that thing any way.

That project is not going anywhere yet. Nothing lines up right. We're gonna have to switch it back to stock intake.

Hey...Did ya know V8 doesn't mean power and speed anymore

PS. I know a 2L (naturally aspirated) that can beat a 95 5.7L Z28 on the 0-60.

All hail the 4 banger! :hail:

Yeah, but Is this car you're talking about STOCK?

Nope, I don't think so. And its not like you could afford that thing anyways.

Hey honda b!tch I live in japan and the 100% JDM hondas over here are crap, there for poor people.
When people wreck them at less then 100kph (63mph) the cars are shreded and people all ways get hurt some real bad.
There death traps.
Now your car has an air speed metered fuel injection and the only way make it work is to have it tuned or go back in time to a earler year camaro and get a MAF metered fuel injection that should help, they are much more flexable then air speed systems.

yeh, that stupid arguing crap is pointless. We all know (v8, v6, i4 guys) that the import world is the new "tuner" class of cars, and there are cars w/ only 4 cylinder that can run circles around earlier model cars with more than twice the ci displacement. My neighbor has a 13.2 second turbo civic, not a bad little ride, and that'll take a ls1 stock 4th gen car, however he also blew that engine up once w/ boost, and ended up putting many grand into it for the forged internals to run the 12 lbs he needed for the 13.2. nOrmally he's running 8 lbs to avoid cannonballing another engine.

past all that.

The northstar is a 32Valve DOHC cadillac v8. Factory it produces 300 hp at mid sixes i believe 6500? and something close to 300 lbs of torque at maybe 4-5 not sure, i'd have to look it up again. The engine is actually a 90 degree v8, however it uses the 60* bellhousing , minus one boss which must be relocated. The DOHC is going to be a tight squeeze in the thirdgen bay, but i'm determined to make it work here in the long haul, also the engine is very easy to make extra power from, unfortunately the parts are not cheap. Headers, Single plane carbed intake, and minor porting of the heads will yield 75 more hp over stock. Also, IRL uses these engines in their indy cars, also known as the aurora v8. The difference of the aurora is that it's only 4.0L instead of the northstars' 4.6L .... but they're the same block.
