Gas, Gas, Everywhere!

My lovely Camaro is again in the garage, ever wished you hadn't bothered?

They took the air intake off and gas fell out. They pulled the dipstick and guess what... yes, gas in the oil too!

Obviously this is a major problem and going to cost me big time, but does anyone have any clues as to why this happened?

What a nightmare this car has turned out to be.

Re: Gas, Gas, Everywhere!

My guess would be the charcoal canister solenoid is stuck open and its sucking fuel from the tank into the engine. Not sure what kind of EVAP system is on your 89 but my 90 has a electronic solenoid that the ECM operates...or you have vacuum operated valve that opens it up.Better change that oil before you try to start that motor?.
