reading codes without reader?
reading codes without reader?
Is there a way to jump the diagnostic of the computer in the camaro to get the problem codes? I am having some very eratic mis-firing in the car and I really didnt want to spend the money for soemone to hook up an computer and tell what is wrong, esp if I can do it myself.
I know that in my truck, I can run a jumper wire and count how many times the check engine light flashes.
Thanks
Marco

Unless your SES light is on or has been on, therewon't be any stored codes.
Also, our cars don't store misfire information. If you have a misfire, you can go on forever and the ECM won't have any clue.
First thing to do with a misfire is to check the integrity of the ignition system. When was the last time you did a tune-up?
