bad lifters?

I was looking at a used V-6 camaro, and the body is somewhat decent, but when running it makes a loud tack tack tack noise that is present when warm or cold (no difference in noise). I tried pinpointing where the noise is coming from, but it wasnt louder or softer anywhere I listened, just constant. Could this be bad lifters? Maybe low oil pressure? I dunno, It drives good but I just wanted your opinions of what you guys think it might be before I look further into it. I just want a dd that won't need any/major work. Thanks as always!
