BFGoodrich 295-50/SR16
Just tonight I installed these tires on stock Iroc rims and suspension. I only wanted to say, that I did very minimal hammering, and that this combo does in fact work very well. I have no spacers on the back wheels, and there is zero rub, even in hard turns ( I haven't turned 90* at 50 mph yet, but harder than normal street turning has a very nice feel to it.) Ride quality is much better than it used to be, and traction is much improved as well. Just wanted to let everyone know.

Most excellent! I'll have to see if 295/50/R15's fit on my 15x8 wheels sometime...
You'll have to get a few pictures eh?
Which BFG tires are these? The drag radials?

Post some pics please. I thought about putting these on a set of 16x9.5 Irocs i have. But was worried they would look to tall.
So I said screw it and installed a set of BFG drag radials in a 255 50 16 tonight. Man do they hook up!

I can't imagine these being a "performance" tire, but possibly stepping up from similar lower cost tires to these would be an improvement, but I'm sure a higher end 255/50 or similar would handle better and have greater traction. With such a wide tire on a rim not wide enough, the sides of the thread will bow out creating a center section that will wear much quicker than the sides. A 295 tire really needs to be on a 10" rim, regardless if you can mount the tire onto the rim and it holds air. For the street I run a 275/60R15 on a 15x8 rim and even with the extra sidewall it still cups the outer treads, but it keeps my spool alive by losing traction around turns easily.
