Put on Your Judges Hats
Simple question, does the teal accent look good or bad?
The final step in our build is refinishing the wheels and my dad and I are at an impasse. He loves the teal accent and I hate it. Please just comment if it looks good or bad. We’ll go with the majority opinion since neither of us is willing to budge.
Ignore the crappy paint job I just brushed a little paint on with no masking tape to get a rough idea of how it would look.

I just voted for "NO". ...but to be absolutely clear, I don't think it's awful, as your "NO" selection was labeled! LOL.....definitely not awful. Just not my personal choice. If it's not silver, black or gold, I try to leave it off the wheels. Even those wheels you have there, when painted red or white....ehhh...just not my cup of tea.
Let me rephrase....I think color accents on these wheels looks very period correct. Like on a stock example, they're great. Depends what your goals are I suppose.

well the red certainly looks good,I’ve seen it look nice in white too. I just think it looks bad in teal/green/blue shades. Gorgeous car by the way, I’ve seen it online several times looking for pictures of wheel accents.

They are only worthwhile to paint IF the wheels are going to look like new when you are done. It is lipstick on a pig if the rest of the wheel looks bad with a nice accent paint...IMHO.

If the rest of the car is original, the wheels should be kept original as well. If the car is no longer stock, do as you please. I have no specific opinion concerning whether the teal paint looks 'good' or 'bad.'
JMO; it's your car.

Re: Put on Your Judges Hats
I think for me, it's not really a matter of better or worse, but rather what else ya got on the car. On the heritage car, with the stripes and the hi wing.....yeah....the red accents just work, but it's part of the whole package. For a restomod, or just an "RS" even....I dunno, I really like the gray accents, but then again, that wheel as a whole isn't my favorite. No right or wrong. -Fun discussion.
Our car is a stock appearing RS minus a cowl hood and a borla exhaust. The cowl hood certainly helps the situation I think, the accents with the stock RS hood would look awful IMO.
seeing as how the votes were tied, I figured I’d give him the benefit of the doubt since I’ve gotten my way on so many other aspects of this project. If it doesn’t work, I can strip them down and redo them again in the fall.
