Yes, you will have lights. Tell your friend that he needs to check the bulbs, fuses, and connections for the back-up lights.

It may be the micro switch gone bad, or not wired up right.

There are 2 micro switches that operate off the shifter assembly. A neutral safety switch and a reverse light switch. There is some adjustment with the micro switches. It may be as simple as readjusting the switch wich is not very hard.

I've been having my Megashifter since they came out and I love mine, I've never had any problems.

ok me and my friend tried hooking up the back-up lights. we figured out its not the wiring or the bulbs by shifting the old shift plate into reverse. the lights went on but we cant figure out how to connect the wires to the b&m. the guy who owned the car before him really didnt know what he was doin because there were about 7 wires all cut and we found 2 switches in the console but nothin connected to them. so if anyone can instruct me from there that would be great. my friend has been tryin to get his car inspected but with no lights he is screwed.

I kno you have to hook up the mirco switches to get em to turn on. If the lights when on when you sifted the old plate than it should be fine. About inspection thats no problem. My car is illegal as hell and i dont have back ups either. Just tell your friend to slip the guy a 50 or so and hell be fine. But im not sure about hookin the switches up , hopefully someone else will no. Good luck with your project and wish your friend some luck too

Try to get the instructions from B&M. If not B&M, then someone who doesn't need their instructions.
