If I were you, I'd buy a cover made from NOAH or Stormshield material. I have the latter for my GTA from Coverking. Covercraft makes excellent covers also.
As far as sources, you can order them through your local parts store such as Advance. Mine cost about $175 when I ordered it from CarParts.com. Expect to pay anywhere from $160 to $230 for a top quality cover for your Z28.
One last note, my cover is very rain-repellant.

Never done any independant research, but hopefully that expensive multi-ply fabric is designed to breathe well. When it rains hard enough to wet the exterior (takes a prolonged, heavy, pouring rain), I don't think it takes any longer to dry with than without a cover.
Plus if you don't have a garage and need relief from the sunny UV rays of Carolina days then a cover is a good buy.

"Made by Guilford Mills, a major OEM supplier of materials, StormShield is the best car cover material available. StormShield is storm rated which means it is extremely water repellent. It is a breatheable three layer material which offers excellent UV protection. The special soft inner layer papers the most delicate paint finish. The material is lightweight and compact for ease of use and storage. StormShield is made by taking polyester woven material, spraying molten acrylic foam, and elctro - flock microscopic cotton fibers onto it, producing a peach fuzz after cooling. StormShield is the only material we suggest for snowy or icy conditions. (It is also a great material for lighter weather!) Two year warranty on material defects"
Thats the better part of a Breakdown on the new materials
most are very breathable now and mildew resistant
look good I think I'll have to replace my walmart special - peice of crap
Thanks for the suggestion Jade

i just shipped back a monsoon to get tested. it decided to stop repelling water after 3 months. i replaced it with a $50 100% water proof cover from pep boys until they replace it. my replacement cover is made of nylon or something, its like a plastic material but repells water great.
neither cover has trapped hummidty. i live in va and its very hummid all the time, the dew sticks to the cover in the mornings and burns off as the sun rises. the car will have very little dew on it when i remove the cover and the monsoon breathe's as they say. my replacement cover has vents since i will not breathe at all.
UV protection we wont talk about.
