JET Stage 2 chip

After having mine installed for about 6 months, I decided to switch back to the stock chip to see any difference. I noticed nothing... I think I wasted 150 bucks on this chip and the only thing I noticed was when I first would go to school in the morning, it would stay in 1st gear longer (only when cold). How the hell does this thing give me the 20hp it says it does?

I guess I should've gone with a hypertech chip. Jeeze the stage 1 chip must be really worthless. Now I can go back to 89 octane Just my observations.

www.fastchip.com aka: Ed Wright Dpending on which chip you get, the "custom" ones are around $350.

I had BOTH Hypertech and JET stage 2 chips for my 92 Z28 305 TPI and they both (to me) felt like they added next to nothing. However I did notice that my speed limiter was reset from 105 (convertible thing) to 130 MPH with the Jet chip, the Hypertech kept it at 105. I now have a Ed Wright custom chip now and am very happy with it. Just my .02c.

I agree, Jet, Hypertech just a big waste of money, much like airfoils, power pulleys, ETC, false horsepower GIMMICKS! Had them all did nothing. Old reliables like Exhaust, porting the plenum, ETC work and people are usually happy with the money spent.

Car: yy wife, crazy.
Engine: 350, Vortecs, 650DP
Transmission: TH-350
Axle/Gears: 8.5", 3.42
I've got that same chip. Lucky for me I found a guy on here selling it used for $50 w/ shipping.

If I would have found out that it did nothing AND spent $130 on it..... I would be pissed, because that's exactly what it did....... NOTHING!!!

Well not completely nothing. I have had the car to 125 MPH since then. I've had the chip for 2 yrs and I just found out LAST WEEK that it'll go more than 110 MPH. :sillylol:

So I guess it was worth at least the $50.

86IROCNJ, Oh yea, I love my set-up so far. The best time I have so far is 13.52 @ 99 mph, that was with bad wheel spin on street tires. I have a$$ loads of torque and the car pulls all the way to 155 mph before it hits the rev limiter 6200 rpm. (lived in Germany for 3 years) I am going to rebuild the engine next year and stroke it to 383, put in a bigger cam and have my Trick Flow 23* ported a little by TPIS (30 min drive from my house and sponser of MNFbody) I also have a T56 from a 94 Z28 that has yet to go in, along with some 4.10 gears out back. Next year is going to be good to me, I hope.

You want a tbi performance chip that works and and is 240mph speed limitted for around 80$ ?

Here is were you can get it www.tbichips.com

I have one (stage one) on my 91trans am stock 305tbi automatic and it works great.
The real increase of power is when the pedal tutches the flor. Changes better too.
