Vortech Intake Selection

I am trying to decide between the GMPP dual plane, the Edelbrock Performer and the Victor intake for my combo.
I have a ZZ4 with 9.75 to 1 comp. and a GMPP Hot Cam.
This will be going into an 84Z with a T5 and 3.73 gears.

Go with a performer rpm air gap. a victor jr will kill you on the bottom end, and that hot cam really isnt big enough to benefit from a single plane intake. weiand makes some good intakes too, everyone i know uses the edelbrock rpm series, as do i, so i really know nothing about the weiands.

Thank you for your response. Does Weiand make a Vortech style
intake? If they do where can I find it? I have never used any Weiand products before only Edelbrock so I really don't know which is better.

Actually come to think of it, unless someone can prove me wrong Weiand does not make intake manifolds for vortec heads. The performer rpm air gap for vortecs will be perfect for you.

I agree on the RPM Air-Gap. I would check to see if Dart makes thier Kool Can for Vortecs first though. CP(competition products) is having a sale on the Dart intakes right now. I just bought my kool can for regular style 350 heads for $150.

So I guess it's unanimous, Air Gap it is. Though I will check to see
if Dart makes an intake for my heads. Anyone running one of these Air Gap manifolds? I'm wondering if i will have hood clearance, it appears to be very tall.

i've been very pleased with my performer RPM intake, and vortec head combo, not sure i'd give it up for an air gap one

I was also wondering about the Air Gap. I'm going to have to pick an intake soon and I was concerned about the hood clearance of an Air Gap as opposed to the standard Performer RPM. Does anyone have any problems fitting an Air Gap under a stock hood? I have an 83 Trans Am with a powerbulge hood. Thanks!

Steve
