Need Chip!

Ok here is the deal. I've got what was a 91 Trans Am convertible with a 305 TPI which of course has SD. Now I just put in a 350 TPI from an 89 GTA I bought wrecked since the motor in the Vert was locked up.

I kept the SD system and the computer still has the chip for the 305 in it. Am I better off just going to GM and buying an SD chip for a 350 or should I just spend extra on something aftermarket?

Thanks

If the 89 engine you put in is stock, the stock 91 GM 350 chip should work just fine.

Yeah all I added was SLP 1 3/4 headers, high flow cat and hooker aerochamber catback. I just need something to make the car run right because it is running HORRIBLE right now. Thanks for the reply.

they are relatively easy to install. . . just under the passenger side dash compartment and remove the 3 bolts thaqt hold the lower plastic part on (at leats that's how many were left intact on mine) and the computer is up inside the panel near the edge. . U can't miss it. It is held in with 2 bolts on the bottoma dn then just slips right out. If it looks the same as mine on my 350 there should be a small yellow box on the side, unplug those wires so you have some room to move it. After that find the side with the little screw down plate and take it off. Once it is off, there are 2 little clips that hold the ship in, push them out I think to remove them, put the new one in, clip it down, put the plate and wires back on, put the dash back together and you are ready to roll. It took me about 10 minutes.
