TPI Intake advice

I am getting ready to buy my new TPI intake. I was going to buy the edelbrock, but I have heard of casting problems and poor quality with this product. Is the Accel base really any better? I know that performace wise they are the same. Is there any other companies that make intakes? I am using my stock plenum and runners for now and soon going to a superram so I need a base to work with these. Thanks!

Mike, I can't say anything against the Edelbrock base but the Accel Base is a nice product. I have one on my 87....

Edelbrock makes the intakes for Edelbrock, Accel and TPIS. Or does Accel make their own? Any one of them is fine.

I have the Eldebrock base and nothing is wrong with mine
Buy the Edelbrock and port it a little if you think that it doesnt flow as well as the TPIS. You will save money by doing this too.

www.azspeed-marine.com takes a stock intake and ports it, and charges a lot of money for it. I wouldnt call it the best. But their large tube and semi-siamese runners are the best.

i dont think 115$ 4 a ported plentum is overboard do u?? and after u swap send the old one back (ups 10.00$) and they credit u 100.))$ not bad!! as for being out of stock the have a quick turn over..

I'm going to agree with Kevin on the AS&M porting. I have read other magazines that say the ported base manifold still doesn't flow as well as the Edelbrock. Don't have any flow numbers comparing the Edelbrock to the Accel though.
