HEADLIGHTS NOT WORKING

So I go to turn on my headlights after I got out of work and they don't turn on. The Parking lights work. This is not the first time this has happened. Sometimes I'll go out and they wont turn on. Ill go out and try a few minutes later or even the next morning and everything is working fine and dandy. What the hell could this be? I had a new Light switch/**** installed on the dash and that seemed to fix the problem ( at least for a couple months), but now the problem has resurfaced. Does anybody ever heard of this or even experienced it? It's really frustrating because I don't know what's causing it and I never know when they will not work.

The bushings inside the motors are crap and break apart over the years. TDS sells a delux rebuild kit for about $20bux and it works great, I would recomend rebuilding the motors with the kit.

I forgot to mention I have a 91 camaro RS. I don't have motors on my lights. The lights simply don't work sometimes. The next day they might be working fine.

Check your connections. There is probably a loose wire somewhere.

It has to be something with the wires or their connections.

I think your in the wrong category, but yes check your wireing & also there is a relay in the fuse box for the lamps. If the relay is tripping on there may be a short somewhere. After the relay cools off it will reset & your lamps will work again.

Re: HEADLIGHTS NOT WORKING

I have a 1991 RS as well. I just dropped my steering column to get to some bolts on the fire wall, and when I put everything back together, my headlights weren't working. Any ideas? I suck at troubleshooting electrical components, so any ideas would be great.

Make sure everything is plugged in all the way and correctly for starters....

Will do. All of my other exterior/interior lights/gauge lights are working, so I'm not sure why the heck they cut out on me. I was hoping it was the relay overheating or something, but this morning, they still weren't working.

I'll check it again, and if it's still hooked up properly, then I guess it's time to bond with some wiring diagrams...

Re: HEADLIGHTS NOT WORKING

Drop the column again and check the wires that run the length under neath the column bracket. You may have pinched one under the bracket. I did that once and drove myself crazy blowing wiper fuses before I figured it out.

You mean the wires that run from left to right underneath the column?
