first things first, find a WC T5. I don't think any one makes internals for a non-wc. - secondly, after wasting all the money involved and still having a 5-speed with a easily breakable case, why not go 6-speed? I blew the case apart in my straight-cut, "dog ear" syncro'ed, T5...twice....

AND!!! if you switch to a WC T5 you have to use the WC bellhousing also because they are not the same!!! The WC T5 has a longer input shaft, and if you use the regular T5 bellhousing, the input shaft will hit the crank before the tranny is bolted up all the way!!

...I just cut the pilot area on the input shaft down a little...
- Something I didn't know/hadn't thought about though. - I'm running a Mcleod bellhousing for a standard, up-right transmission. My trans stands up straight and I have a custom mechanical clutch set-up, so the bell deal is something I didn't know....

Yeah, I had a 1979 Z28 that I put a TPI motor in and parted together everything for a T5 setup. Had a WC T5 and a regular bellhousing. Didnt find out until too late... I was a little pi$$ed..lol ... I would have thought they would be the same, and dont really know what the purpose for that difference was. But the cool thing about the WC T5 is that is has tapered bearing to protect against bearing thrust, better syncros, and a little better quality gears. They had to start using the WC when the TPI motors came out because the nasty torque they produce.
