Carpet

I'm looking to buy a new carpet for my bird. I see front carpets on ebay for
as low as $99. What advice do you guys have? I was thinking of ACC brand,
I have heard they are the best. Any comments?

Thx!!

99$ sounds like a good deal if the piece is going to be quality. this place is pretty good, a bit more expensive though.

As for that brand, can't say much about them sorry. But SI ^ is a decent seller, contacting them is easy enough.

I have ACC carpet, It has been in the car for nearly three years and has faded from black to gray. The fit was horrible as well. I ended up finding a rear hatch carpet out of a parts car that was in perfect condition so put that back in my car(The color difference was night and day between the acc and factory black). I am still looking for a nice front carpet set. I think there is someone on here who sells a nice carpet that is closer to factory but i cant remember his user name. Maybe he will see this and chime in.......jt

Try IRace Motorsports . Jim uses a different company than ACC and knows his stuff. He's a long time member and moderator here and has an excellent reputation. As I said, that's my and who I would buy from.

I always thought that ACC was a highly reputable company. I had followed their build of a 84 z28 and it came out a true badass. They did several things that i would like to do on my z. Has anyone else had a bad run in with this company or good things for that matter?

ACC carpet has a reputation of fading, particularly black. Twice I've used black ACC carpet on previous cars with each one fading. I'll never use ACC again.

Not just black. The gray will turn green, and the tan/beechwood will turn yellow. I'm sure other colors have similar issues. This is due to the process that they use to die the material.

OK, well against common advice I purchased a carpet from summit racing because I have had good results with them many times before. I got a *nifty* brand carpet. The quality of the carpet was good but it didn't cover the same area that the factory carpet did. It stopped short of the seatbelt mounts on the outboard sides of the rear seats. This small area between the rear butt cushion and the armrest plastic stuck out like a sore thumb considering my interior is black and the floor pan is light blue. Summit made good on it and took it back even after I had cut it out for the shifter and console. So in the end I'll still say that Summit racing is good but Nifty carpets are bad.

Thx!

Update, I bought a carpet from Jim85IROC. I got the standard cheaper one and I couldn't be happier. It was of a better quality and cheaper price than the one I had gotten from Summit. There was plenty of extra around the edges, the thread count was higher (IE thicker carpet), and the coverage was better than factory. It fit great. I had to cut out all the holes and center console piece but it didn't bother me. All together it took about 4-5 hours to install by myself. That includes trimming a little bit at a time and test fit and trim some more and test fit and so on. I highly recommend Jim's (ACS) carpet. Now, time will tell the real story, but everybody that has bought from him are happy. I will be buying floor mats from him in the near future. THX Jim!!
