New Dash

I want to but an aftermarket dash for my 83 camaro. Anyone know where I could buy one from. BTW: I'm not going to the junkyard.

From GM, Classic Industries or Year One. When you see what they cost, you'll go to the junk yard.

Re: No cam retainer=engine knock

went to the junkyard today, found a 92 buick roadmaster with a 350 tbi in it, and guess what there wasnt any plate in it, wtf. this motor has been a nightmare, all the pistons are mixed up and putting it back together some wouldnt fit we got them all to fit finally, but its probably going to be out of balance

Re: No cam retainer=engine knock

you could hack a newer fbody dash into there, some people have done it and it looks sick imo but the wiring is prob a nightmare

Re: New Dash

What kind of aftermarket dash are you looking for? I know of a couple companies that do aftermarket dashes for third generation Firebirds. Since they are made for the Firebird, I don't see why they wouldn't fit on a Camaro as well.

Now these dashes are made to resemble a certain popular 80's TV show. But if you're looking for a unique look to your car. I think this would be a good way to go.

Like I said earlier, I know of a couple companies, but I can only think of a website for one off the top of my head. I'll rack my brain tomorrow to see if I can remember the others.

www.markscustomkits.com is the one I can remember right now

I hope this was of some help.

Re: New Dash

did anyone notice this thread is 8 years old!? The OP is long gone, and the person that revived the thread wasn't remotely on topic.

Re: New Dash

The thread may have returned from the dead, but now I know where to get a cheap dash.

Re: New Dash

good point. This thread would have been interesting to me a few months ago. I got a steal though. Found a freshly retired third gen and got a perfect dash from it. $30 from a junkyard, did the pull in under 30min (because I pulled my old one out first of course). Summit has some nice cover mats though. I put one on over my new pad just to protect it from the brutal florida sun. Junkyards are the way to go really. Now all I need is an LS6, a t-56 and some 4th gen leather seats :P.
