Siamese runners?
Hi..
I want to make more power in theupper rpm's and cant buy a miniram. So is the superram or AS&M semi-runners the only way to go?
Or is the SLP worth buying?
Has anyone compared SLP vs AS&M ???

I am currently porting a set of SLP runners. I must say I was not impressed with how they were delivered, no comparison to the AS&M runners. The AS&M runners are made from extruded alum tubing with a very smooth surface finish plus their inside dia. is a consistant 1.66" throughout. The SLP's have a 1.60" entry, but mnay points in the runner are less than that, some places a 1.55" feeler will not pass! It took lots of porting to open mine up and smooth out the areas where the ports had obsructions due to the boly mounting areas. When I was all done, I could pass a 1.60" feeler at all points, and a 1.65" feeler in most areas. I probably spent 10 hours to do one side. I am trying to get the before and after runners flowed right now, if I do, I will post the flow data.

Ditch the Edelbrock headers for SLP 1 3/4" headers, then get a SuperRam. Mucho upper RPM power to be gained there.
If you want to stick with the runner setup, get the AS&M runners.

I just got my SLP's, and I plan on porting the chit out of them. I admit that out of the box the AS&M’s are probably a better performing runner than the SLP’s. But I think that w/ some work the SLP’s can be just as good. You can buy 2 sets of SLP runners and have money left over for the price of one set of AS&M’s. One advantage of the SLP’s is that they are cast w/ tons of extra material so you can do a lot of porting. If you have $$ and no time or porting knowledge/resources, buy the AS&M’s. If you are on a budget like I am and don’t mind spending some time porting, buy the SLP’s. A couple of weeks ago, there was a pretty good discussion about this on a post started by TRAXION titled “Why are the AS&M SS LTR’s better than the SLP’s.” Check it out if you haven’t already. Right now I am in the middle of porting my base, and let me tell you it is time consuming.

Or if you are like me and for once come across a steal of a deal on AS&M Siamsed runners, BUY THEM!! Even if you don't use them you can sell them.
I got mine used, but never installed for $300 shipped. The runners are out there if you really want to look.
