clear sidemarker problems

I bought these clear sidemarkers a year ago. Now the right side is cracked and the left one is already bend really bad. Anyone else had this problem? I wrote Hawks but didn't get an answer till now.

But, my 87 GTA has perfectly good 20 year old lenses. I'd be upset too, if my lenses busted after only a year.

Re: clear sidemarker problems

Well, I know that plastic is not steel, but the originals are plastic too.
I just wanted to know if I had bad luck with my set or if there is a problem overall with these parts.

Re: clear sidemarker problems

Ive had a set of clear markers on my 87 TA for about 5 years. One of the first things I got after I bought the car. Just recently, I got into an accident. Ruined both front fenders. I popped the lenses out and they are perfect. The one opening was even bent out of square, and the lense didnt get damaged at all.

My point... sounds like you either got a cheapo set... or the ones you got were just a bad batch or something. Ive never heard of them bending though...thats weird.

I didnt even know Hawks sold them... Ide wait and see what they respond with. They are generally pretty stand up as far as customer service goes.

J.

Please don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that its Hawks fault because they are not producing them. Their customer service was/is top!

btw. who all is selling these sidemarkers?

Re: clear sidemarker problems

swisscheese,

I came the other way across the pond and landed in Canada.

ebay has lots of venders selling these. They usually go for $38.00 a set. Cheaper than hawks.

These guys sell both side and front clear lights.
