Stock intake w/K&Ns vs slp cold air intake

As of now I have 2 k&n's in the stock intake. Would I notice any gains switching to an slp cold air intake?

Re: Stock intake w/K&Ns vs slp cold air intake

The stock Camaro system breathes air from in front of the radiator, so it's warmer than ambient but not hot like Firebirds breathe. My guess would be that you will gain no measurable power, not with your current combo listed on your website. IMHO, in current form your heads/cam are the limiting factors.

But if you step up to a serious engine package the cooler air/less restrictive SLP unit will give you more power, but right now, your air box/filter is not the bottle neck. Every time you find and eliminate the bottleneck in the system, you just find another bottleneck somewhere else!

The air that it breates from in front of the radiator is the ambient air, which will be much cooler than the air inside the engine bay. One suggestion would be to gut the stock air box and look at one of the hawks ram air setups that you put in back of the fog lights that brings more air into the system.
