car covers

Ok i had my mind set on a custom fit car cover but i dont know about spending 240 or so dollars on a cover which my camaro doesnt have no mint paint job. So i think im going go with this cover, http://www.autoanything.com/car-covers/69A4497A0A0.aspx its only $75 and comes with lock/bag and is a darker grey which i want. But what size do i need i want the cover to go down to arond the edge of the rim but not to be dragging on the ground and to look loose and sloppy. Here are the sizes for the covers
Compact: up to 175” L
Mid Size: 176”-190” L
Full size: 191”-210” L

or is there any other good covers UNDER 100 dollars that have a decent warrenty and that works good mostly for repelling rain and door dings and such also that is med-dark grey, dark blue, or black. Thank you for your help.

You are not going to find any cover under $100 that going to be anygood for outside storeage. You need one made "stormweave" type fabric and made for 3rd gen car..

well i was originally gonna get a noah cover but it quite expensive and not into the reflective silver and its not for outside storage, i just need it for when im in class or at a store or something and plus with a universal i could just throw it on and lock it and be on my way which would be expecially important for when i cover my camaro at school. It would be nice to have one that kept the WHOLE car dry but again its not a mint paintjob, and the rain would just roll right off and i can always just use the quick detailer i alway keep with me. the main purpouse of the cover is 1. to protect from bird crap, dings, sap 2. to kinda hide the car so it doesnt attract people to try to break in or steel her, and 3. to keep the car cleaner for longer and to keep cooler or warmer.

Re: car covers

I would think a car under a car cover parked in a store parking lot will attract a lot more attention then a car just sitting.

Second, if the car is dirty at all the car cover will wear on your paint. Any slack and the wind will cause it to rub, which in turn will grind any dirt or anything into the paint. Keep the car clean, wash and wax, but leave the cover for long term storage.

the paint is always clean and is regularly waxed and sprayed with detailer. found out i need the biger size btw. anyhow i think the cover would protect more from someone trying to break in since they cant see whats in there which would be really useful since its a hatch with light tint. of course i would have a nice viper alarm that would be very vissible and a kill switch and evently some dark possibly duel pane windows. plus it will let me cut down on the time to detail since with not cover water would just sit on the paint and dry and leave marks but with a cover it would be much less. do you think its better to buy a noah car cover that is suppose to be custom fit cover but its 220 bucks. this http://www.autoanything.com/car-covers/60A1009A0A0.aspx

plus a cover will keep the car cool and protect a little from door dings. dang i dont know i'll have to think about it i guess.

Re: car covers

ok i think iv decide (might not last lol) to forget the cover idea and just really make sure to save up for the viper alarm system (which includes engine start, warm up interior, cool down interior, and a bunch of other neat things. and also install a kill switch, and some tinted windows. Also to park REALLY far away.

Re: car covers

That is the smarter move Parking really far away I'd advise against. Park on the outskirts. Try and park as close to a lightpost or other barrier away from other peoples driver side doors. Parking as far away as possible is asking for vandalism.

Re: car covers

I bought my two good ones from Bonspeed. http://bonspeed.com/

I have two cheap ones from Costco for a couple of cars with not so good paint.
Very few car covers last long out in the sun. They are mostly to keep show cars clean as they are usually not washed.

Re: car covers

I bought one 2-3 years ago and used it since under a car canopy type thing. My car is mint and was painted about 5 years ago.I wasnt sure as some people said no way and some said they are ok.Well after 2 years I could tell I made a mistake.Every particle of dirt that gets under it will scratch, after about a year you will see the effects on the corners and high places the cover touches.I dont care what you buy unless its sealed in one of those bubbles water will get in/under and then you have another set of problems.Mine was around 250.00.I still have not decided which is better,to cover or not because being exposed all this time surely wouldve caused some damage also.My car is only driven about 100 miles a year and I dont cover it anymore.

Re: car covers

you also want to make sure the material its made out of is breathable, or you can get moisture damage I found out the hard way. I use a breathable cover from empire covers, stays on in the strong south texas winds too
